Kaytlynn & Hayden’s Wedding. Draper Temple. Historic Ogden Meetinghouse.

I love photographing couples at the LDS Draper Temple. The only drawback is the wind. Brrr. It was windy and deceivingly cold on Kaytlynn and Hayden’s wedding day, but luckily no rain! Their reception was at an historic meetinghouse in Ogden. It was beautiful. The woodwork, archetectural details, and pastel tones were perfect for their vintage themed wedding. And they brought in antiques galore, most of them handed down from generation to generation. They didn’t skimp on the details which creates a lot more work, but the end result is always better. The reception hall is a huge space, and they did a fabulous job filling it with the perfect decorations, delicious food, and genuine people. Thanks for having me, Kaytlynn and Hayden! I wish you all the best!

Kaytlynn and Hayden chose to donate to the Tanzania Community Library Project. Thank you for loving the world!

Elena & Dave. Alta Lodge Wedding. Utah.

You know those moments when you feel so comfortable, warm, and happy – and you hope nothing ever changes? Those were my exact feelings during Elena and Dave’s wedding. I was so impressed with Elena when I met her, and I was really looking forward to photographing her and Dave’s wedding. They are such genuine people. There was so much warmth and love to be felt from them and all their guests. I just didn’t want to leave, and once again, it reminded me how awesome it is that my job allows me to meet such extraordinary people. I wish them all the love and happiness in the world. Thanks for having me.

Elena and Dave chose to donate to The Road Home. Thanks for loving the world!

Elena and Dave had great things to say about these wedding vendors:

Michaela & Matt. Slattery Vintage Estates. Lincoln, Nebraska.

There is so much to say about Matt and Michaela’s beautiful wedding, but I’d rather talk about them. I first met Matt when my husband and I stole his spot on a shuttle to our hotel upon our arrival to Peace Corps staging in Philadelphia in 2010. I’m so glad he didn’t hold it against me because he and I ended up being placed in the same training village once we arrived in Moldova. There’s something about being placed in a completely foreign land that automatically brings you close to others who are in your same situation. More so than any other time of my life, I felt an immediate connection with all the Peace Corps Moldova volunteers in my same group. It’s like a family – you didn’t choose them, but you’d do anything for them. Anyway, Matt and I became great friends – I always said he was my second favorite Peace Corps Volunteer – of course Curt was my first favorite. We helped each other get through long, boring mandatory trainings, and he even visited my village on a couple of occasions to help with health projects. You know how you feel like it’s your business who somebody you care about is dating even though it’s not? Well I got to meet Michaela a few times in Moldova on her vacations from Spain where she was working, and I distinctly remember my first impression of her was, “She’s quality.” As our close of service approached, I wondered who I would cross paths with in the future. I had no doubt that I would see Matt and Michaela again at some point. I was ecstatic to be asked to photograph their wedding. They are beautiful people who care about the world. They are so good to each other and a perfect match. And they threw the best party at a little vineyard in Nehawak, Nebraska for their wonderful friends and families. I wish you all the best, Matt and Michaela! Noroc!

Matt and Michaela chose to donate to the Peace Corps Moldova Country Fund. Thanks for loving the world!

A September Wedding: Tifany & Mark.

I just love Louland Falls. Tifany and Mark are so great, and I was so excited to photograph them. Tifany is even a fellow social worker! They planned a great morning wedding at Louland Falls with just the right amount of details for their venue. Their beautiful ceremony was followed by celebrating, dancing, eating, cake cutting, and a lot of picture taking. Such a great event and such great families. Thanks for having me out!

Tifany and Mark donated to the Best Friends Animal Society.

An August Wedding: Allison & Thomas. Tuscany.

Allison and Thomas had a morning wedding at Tuscany Restaurant in Holladay, Utah. Their color scheme complimented the natural decor offered by Tuscany which is a beautiful venue. Allison and Thomas are both so down to earth, and I loved how much Thomas made Allison laugh throughout the day. Thank you so much for letting me be your photographer, Allison and Thomas!

Allison and Thomas donated to the Milking Cows for a Deaf School project in Kenya. Thank you for loving the world!
