Maison. Newborn Lifestyle Session

I always love the way new parents look at the tiny person they’re holding in their arms. Pure amazement at new life – how humans can create other humans. It’s such a miracle for me every time I see my clients holding what they’ve created or what was created for them. This sweet little one had the best facial expressions, and I just loved her parents’ reactions to them all.

Ethan. Happy Graduation!

This cute chap recently graduated from high school, and I’m just thrilled that he still calls me “Aunt Susie” every now and then. Love him to pieces and feeling so lucky that I got to capture him during this momentous time in his life.

Montana Elopement.

Carrie and Bobby’s intimate Montana elopement was the perfect reminder that choosing your forever partner is what we’re celebrating on a wedding day. Sometimes weddings become more about putting on a show or having the perfect this or that, and while those things are fun, I loved how Carrie and Bobby simply focused on each other. Definitely the smallest wedding I’ve ever photographed (I was even one of the witnesses!), just Carrie and Bobby, their two neighbors and Bobby’s son showed up on a Thursday morning in June to celebrate commitment, love, and new beginnings.

The cutest moment (besides every moment with the adorable Bo) was when Carrie rang a bell, letting Bobby know she was on her way to become his wife. A small lunch and cake cutting followed the ceremony along with some family pictures just up the road at the beautiful and one-of-a-kind Feather Pipe Ranch in Colorado Gulch.

Lindsay + Troy. A Montana Mountain Wedding.

Lindsay and Troy chose the lovely 4-R Ranch in Helena, Montana to exchange vows on a bright and beautiful June morning. As a part of their intimate ceremony in a small grove of aspens they planted a tree to symbolize the roots they were planting together as husband and wife. I am usually brought to tears when I’m shooting a ceremony, but this one hit me in a different way. I cherish the moments I have with my clients when they share personal pieces of their lives with me, so knowing Lindsay’s and Troy’s beautiful story made this occasion that much more meaningful.

Easton. Newborn In-home Lifestyle Session.

This little man’s mama is one of my dearest friends, and it was so special watching her transition into motherhood. This little guy is 16 months now, and he keeps everyone on their toes. I love posting newborn sessions when the little ones are in a different stage of life so parents can look back and see how much has changed in so little time. Our time is so precious, and watching babies grow up so fast is the perfect reminder to be present every day.
