Chafaye and Cole. Montana Engagement Session.

I love when my clients are so obviously proud of their partners. It was the sweetest thing to witness Chafaye and Cole telling me about each other. Chafaye would rave about Cole’s successes, and Cole would quickly return the compliments. They both feel pretty lucky, and I can see why. They’re two wonderful people with very full hearts.

Montana Summers: A Lifestyle Session

Montana summers are too good to be true. I moved here in the month of November and quickly had to reset my romantic expectations of the wild west, but it all made sense when spring began to blossom and the summer sun replenished my Vitamin D. Montana summers are why people live here. I’ve since come to appreciate the winter for all its beauty and wonder, but I’ll take a Montana summer with its big blue sky any day of the year. I love it when my clients want to have their photo taken with the people they love, no matter their relationship status. I know some couples feel weird doing a session if they aren’t engaged or married, but I can’t understand why. Lifestyle sessions are about capturing your everyday happiness, and why shouldn’t your life before marriage be included in this? Shelley was leaving for college and wanted to have some photos she could admire while toughing out a long distance relationship.

p.s. Shelly and Jerry are now married!!

Mountain Campfire Engagement

Kelsee and Preston have such a grounded love. Sure and true. They got engaged in front of a campfire, so it was only fitting that they end their engagement session snuggling in front of the campfire on the land where they will commit their forevers. Plus that fire was the perfect reward after hanging out in the freezing cold!

Nicole + Ashby {Montana Wedding Photographer}

I adore Nicole and Ashby and was so thrilled to be their wedding photographer. And it certainly didn’t hurt that Ashby’s daughter might be the cutest little girl I’ve ever seen. They – whoever they are – say rain is good luck on your wedding day, and I imagine Nicole and Ashby would agree! It poured during their indoor dinner and ended just in time to dance the night away on the open-air patio. I do love a good outdoor wedding.

Foggy Bozeman Engagements: Jordan + Justin

There’s a point on the trip from Helena to Bozeman when you reach a small hill and start your descent into the Three Forks area. Typically the valley is in full view, but on this day, a thick cloud of what looked like smoke was hovering so low throughout the entire valley. I was disappointed until I realized it was actually fog! I immediately pictured a couple in a foggy hayfield walking towards me. I love how fog instantly sets a romantic mood. Jordan and Justin were so sweet with each other, and it all came together with the soft colors of morning.
